Outside

The last several days have brought very warm weather and we have been able to spend a lot of time outside. Cooper got to play in the grass for the first time on Sunday and he loved it. Although, I did find him trying to eat grass, dirt, rocks, and anything else he found on the ground. Josie got to run around in just a long sleeved shirt so she was happy as could be. When we have cool days again, Josie will probably fight putting a jacket on. On Sunday, we were able to till our garden up. I don't think we have ever been this far ahead of the game on the garden.
Cooper is becoming a climber. Anytime the gate to the upstairs is left open he makes a bee line for them and starts climbing. Unfortunately he can be quite sneaky as he is a very quiet boy. He also likes to sneak into the bathroom and play in the toilet. We are having to be very careful about either putting the seat down or just shutting the door to the bathroom. Cooper also got to try finger painting for the first time last week and he wasn't so sure about it.
Josie loves being able to spend more time outside. She is getting so good at going up and down her swingset. She loves to be in her swing as well. Luckily, Cooper likes to swing a lot too. Otherwise I have a feeling I would have a hard time keeping him away from Josie swinging. She also is really starting to love to ride her bike. She is getting pretty good at peddaling as long as she is on the flat.

Well checks!

Both Josie and Cooper had well baby check ups today and everything went very well! Luckily neither kid needed shots today so it wasn't so bad taking both kids at the same time. When we were sitting in the waiting room Josie was super talkative and playful but as soon as we got back to our room and the doctor came in she clammed up and wouldn't hardly talk. Cooper on the other hand had lots to tell the doctor about as he didn't hardly stop babbling the entire time we were there.
Josie had her 2.5 year check up and here are her stats:
Weight - 31 lbs 11 oz (81st percentile)
Height - 36.46 in (68th percentile)
Head - 19.25 in (72nd percentile)
Cooper had his 9 month check up and here are his stats:
Weight - 21lbs 2oz (56th percentile)
Height - 27.95 in (33rd percentile)
Head - 18 in (67th percentile)
For some reason Cooper seems so much bigger although his stats don't say much for his age. Can you tell who Cooper looks like?

What's new!

-One would think that being a stay at home mom would allow me more time to blog but it seems to have the opposite affect on me. We have been very busy the last several weekends. Which then means my weeks are crazy as I try to get everything picked up and the kids back on their schedule.

I still haven't taken pics of our new rooms but I will soon.

Josie loves to play with her babies. She is constantly changing their diapers and nursing them. She is singing her ABC's and counting to 10 now. She is so proud of herself. We're pretty happy with this too.

Cooper is pulling up on everything and trying to walk along furniture. He is also walking with just holding our hands. He's even started to try and let go off things and balance himself. He also cut his 5th tooth through this last weekend with out us even noticing that he was working on another tooth. Hopefully they all start coming in easier.

new rooms!!!

The last 2 weeks have been busy around the Hanson household. It has finally come time to finish the 3rd bedroom that is upstairs. We had only been using the 2 rooms at the front of the house and the 3rd room is where all of the extra flooring and construction materials were moved to in the rush of moving from the trailer house. Well Cooper is to the age that he needs to start putting himself to sleep so I finally said that we needed to finish the 3rd room before any other projects get started. Granted with all of the nice weather we've had I new it would be hard to knock this project out in 1 weekend and so about 2 weeks after starting we were able to move. Unfortunately I don't have after pictures yet but here are some before pics. Josie and Cooper's room will now be just Josie's room(yes, it is a very large room!). Our room will become Cooper's room and the unfinished room will become our new room.
Cooper has gotten his 3rd tooth about 1.5 weeks ago and is working on his 4th tooth now. josie is still working on her 2 year molars. Hopefully by the time she is 3 she will have them! Cooper is crawling all over the place. Well...at our house it's butt scooting and anywhere with carpet it's full on crawling. He has also figured out how to pull himself up on things. He loves standing and crawling up on the 1st stair by the steps to go upstairs.
Josie had quite the relapse on potting training so we are trying everything to get her to pee and poop on the potty. One day she was sitting on the potty attempting to poop (she doesn't like to) and she was asking to put her makeup on. So, in an attempt to get her to poop I said if she pooped she could put makeup on. Well, needless to say she did poop and here is a result of her makeup!!

Sledding

This last monday was such a nice day out that I took the opportunity to take the kids outside to play. While we were in the garage getting Cooper strapped into the wagon, the only easy spot to put him while outside with snow on the ground, Josie found her sled. So, I decided to try and see if Josie would sled down the hill. The hill isn't very steep by the barn, but steep enough for a 2 year old to try sledding. I made the first path down the hill with Josie watching. When I got back up to the top, Josie decided that she should get to try sledding. I asked her if she wanted to go on my lap or if she wanted to go by herself. She said she wanted to go by herself so I just held onto the rope connected to the sled and ran down the hill beside her. When we got to the bottom of the hill she was crying. I thought for sure that she was scared but when I asked what was wrong she said she wanted to go by herself and not have me hang onto the rope. So, back up the hill we went so she could go by herself. This time I got her on the sled and sent her down the hill running alongside(mainly to make sure that she didn't veer off course and run into the barbed wire fence). She was all smiles at the bottom of the hill. After that she was going down the hill and bring the sled back up all by herself. I can't believe how big and brave she is!!

Christmas.. and updates

Christmas came fast and furious for us this year. We spent Christmas Eve morning visiting Brett and Kendra and their new baby girl at the hospital. On the way home, both kids fell asleep in the car and so Luke and I took a couple of hours to feed cows while the kids slept in the truck. After feeding cows, we decided to give Cooper his first hair cut.
That evening we went to my dad's side of the families Christmas where both kids got spoiled by their Great Aunt's and Uncle's. When we got home it was time for bed so the kids got dressed and then put out cookies for Santa.
The next morning we woke up and the kids got to open their presents and play for awhile.
Next we went to my parent's house where the kids were spoiled with lots of presents.
That evening we went to Luke's parents house where the kids were once again spoiled like crazy. Josie had a blast opening up presents all day long and finally got tired and wouldn't open the last several presents that she had. She was too busy with her aunt Casey putting her play makeup on and strutting around with a new purse, new barn boots and a new hat. I somehow played switcheroo with mine and my parents camera, therefore I don't have any pictures from the evening to post.
This last week has been very crazy as Cooper got sick and was not sleeping well. Last Wednesday Cooper started to get a fever, which I just associated with teething. Well, after giving him tylenol and his fever still getting worse I had to give him ibuprofen as well. That night he would not sleep unless he was upright, so I spent part of the night in the chair with him, not getting much sleep. I took him to the clinic on Thursday figuring he had an ear infection but his ears only had clear fluid behind them. So, after another bad night I ended up back at the clinic on Friday where again, the doctor wasn't sure what he had. Finally, early Saturday morning his fever finally broke while sleeping on Luke in the recliner. Then Saturday, he broke out in a rash. I figured he had gotten Roseola, but after talking to the doctor this morning he just had a virus. The rash should disappear within 1-2 more days and he is no longer contagious. He is finally starting to feel better, now let's just hope Josie doesn't get this.

It's Almost Christmas

Again, the last several weeks have been very busy for us. Cooper continues to work on cutting teeth. He has also gotten up on his hands and knees multiple times but ends up sprawled out on the floor. He's becoming much happier and smiles all the time. Josie is also working on cutting in her 2 year molars. She has been keeping herself very busy taking care of her babies. She spends most of her time nursing and rocking her baby.
Josie just loved spending Saturday morning outside in th fresh snow.
She had a visitor the other night. Santa came to do a preliminary check on what she wanted for Christmas. She was scared of him and clung to daddy but had no problem telling Santa that she wanted a Baby Stroller. Cooper also did not like Santa and screamed while being held by him.
Here are some recent pics.
