This last Sunday was Cooper's First Birthday. We actually celebrated with a party on Saturday night with friends and family. Cooper had a great time, once he got some medicine in him since his teeth were bothering him. He really enjoyed his smash cake that I made for him. He was actually pretty good and didn't make too much of a mess. I also made the tractor cake. It's supposed to resemble a John Deere tractor. What do you think?? I think I'll keep cake decorating for my kids parties only. haha. After the cake, we decided to do presents and he didn't have any interest in opening anything. He just wanted to wander around outside. He really took off with his walking in the last week leading up to his party so anytime he's outside he just likes to wander around. So, Josie and her cousins helped me open all the presents up. He got some really great gifts. We gave him a couple of books and a Little People car ramp. He and Josie have spent a lot of time playing with that the last couple of days. He also got a water table and they absolutely love it. They have played with it a couple of times already. It will help on those hot days to have water to play with. Here's a picture overload!!

Almost Walking!!!
Cooper is almost walking. He walks with anything he can find to push or walks along furniture. He has taken up to 10-12 steps before falling. He primarily walks about 5-6 steps at a time though. He is also saying "mama" alot. Mostly when he is eating. He has also said "dadda," but not when Luke is around. He loves to be outside but spends most of the time getting pulled off of the steps as going up and down them is his favorite thing to do.
Josie thinks its a lot of fun to have Cooper chasing after her. They both get toys to push around the house and they just go laps all over the place. They have so much fun giggling and laughing. It's great to hear them having fun!!

Happy Easter
This year's Easter was a great day. We only went to 2 places which was nice as it gave us more time to enjoy the day and relax. The only problem was that on Saturday night our hot water heater quit working therefore not allowing us to fix it until Sunday night. We ended up skipping church and taking hot showers at the Hansons. We gave the kids their Easter baskets right away in the morning and they really enjoyed them!!
Cooper is up to 8 teeth now. I think he is working on even more teeth but I can't tell for sure. He has taken 2 steps for his daddy and 1 step for me. I keep waiting for the day that he just decides to take off walking. We have lots of different toys with wheels that he can push around so I think he gets around so well that it isn't pushing him to try and walk on his own.
Josie is almost fully potty trained. She is doing so good with telling us when she needs to go. We haven't had any accidents in several weeks now!!! She is also going diaper less for nap time but still wears them at night. If she needs to wear diapers at night for awhile I am fine with that. Anytime she goes poop on the potty she gets to put makeup on. We started doing that as a reward, since she didn't want candy(she's not much of a sweets girl), but now she just loves putting makeup on. Here are some pics of her makeup!!!
We planted out potatoes in the garden last weekend but they haven't come up yet. Cooper loves playing in the dirt and Josie was doing a great job putting the potatoes in the holes and covering them up. They had a blast outside in the garden. We are already spending most of our days outside since it is so nice out.

Outside
The last several days have brought very warm weather and we have been able to spend a lot of time outside. Cooper got to play in the grass for the first time on Sunday and he loved it. Although, I did find him trying to eat grass, dirt, rocks, and anything else he found on the ground. Josie got to run around in just a long sleeved shirt so she was happy as could be. When we have cool days again, Josie will probably fight putting a jacket on. On Sunday, we were able to till our garden up. I don't think we have ever been this far ahead of the game on the garden.
Cooper is becoming a climber. Anytime the gate to the upstairs is left open he makes a bee line for them and starts climbing. Unfortunately he can be quite sneaky as he is a very quiet boy. He also likes to sneak into the bathroom and play in the toilet. We are having to be very careful about either putting the seat down or just shutting the door to the bathroom. Cooper also got to try finger painting for the first time last week and he wasn't so sure about it.
Josie loves being able to spend more time outside. She is getting so good at going up and down her swingset. She loves to be in her swing as well. Luckily, Cooper likes to swing a lot too. Otherwise I have a feeling I would have a hard time keeping him away from Josie swinging. She also is really starting to love to ride her bike. She is getting pretty good at peddaling as long as she is on the flat.

Well checks!
Both Josie and Cooper had well baby check ups today and everything went very well! Luckily neither kid needed shots today so it wasn't so bad taking both kids at the same time. When we were sitting in the waiting room Josie was super talkative and playful but as soon as we got back to our room and the doctor came in she clammed up and wouldn't hardly talk. Cooper on the other hand had lots to tell the doctor about as he didn't hardly stop babbling the entire time we were there.
Josie had her 2.5 year check up and here are her stats:
Weight - 31 lbs 11 oz (81st percentile)
Height - 36.46 in (68th percentile)
Head - 19.25 in (72nd percentile)
Cooper had his 9 month check up and here are his stats:
Weight - 21lbs 2oz (56th percentile)
Height - 27.95 in (33rd percentile)
Head - 18 in (67th percentile)
For some reason Cooper seems so much bigger although his stats don't say much for his age. Can you tell who Cooper looks like?

What's new!
-One would think that being a stay at home mom would allow me more time to blog but it seems to have the opposite affect on me. We have been very busy the last several weekends. Which then means my weeks are crazy as I try to get everything picked up and the kids back on their schedule.
I still haven't taken pics of our new rooms but I will soon.
Josie loves to play with her babies. She is constantly changing their diapers and nursing them. She is singing her ABC's and counting to 10 now. She is so proud of herself. We're pretty happy with this too.
Cooper is pulling up on everything and trying to walk along furniture. He is also walking with just holding our hands. He's even started to try and let go off things and balance himself. He also cut his 5th tooth through this last weekend with out us even noticing that he was working on another tooth. Hopefully they all start coming in easier.

new rooms!!!
The last 2 weeks have been busy around the Hanson household. It has finally come time to finish the 3rd bedroom that is upstairs. We had only been using the 2 rooms at the front of the house and the 3rd room is where all of the extra flooring and construction materials were moved to in the rush of moving from the trailer house. Well Cooper is to the age that he needs to start putting himself to sleep so I finally said that we needed to finish the 3rd room before any other projects get started. Granted with all of the nice weather we've had I new it would be hard to knock this project out in 1 weekend and so about 2 weeks after starting we were able to move. Unfortunately I don't have after pictures yet but here are some before pics. Josie and Cooper's room will now be just Josie's room(yes, it is a very large room!). Our room will become Cooper's room and the unfinished room will become our new room.
Cooper has gotten his 3rd tooth about 1.5 weeks ago and is working on his 4th tooth now. josie is still working on her 2 year molars. Hopefully by the time she is 3 she will have them! Cooper is crawling all over the place. Well...at our house it's butt scooting and anywhere with carpet it's full on crawling. He has also figured out how to pull himself up on things. He loves standing and crawling up on the 1st stair by the steps to go upstairs.

Josie had quite the relapse on potting training so we are trying everything to get her to pee and poop on the potty. One day she was sitting on the potty attempting to poop (she doesn't like to) and she was asking to put her makeup on. So, in an attempt to get her to poop I said if she pooped she could put makeup on. Well, needless to say she did poop and here is a result of her makeup!!
